Dr. Lindqvist opened Northwind in 2016 after years in a large group practice where the schedule ran the day and patients were numbers on a production board. The idea was simple: see fewer people, take longer with each of them, and be honest about what needs doing.
Eight years later we are still two dentists and a team that mostly has not changed. Patients who came in as nervous adults now bring their children.
Every new patient gets a full exam with photographs of their own teeth on the screen, so you can see what we are describing rather than take our word for it. Your treatment plan is written, priced with your insurance applied, and divided into what needs doing now and what can safely wait.
We do most things here: cleanings, fillings, crowns made in the clinic, implants planned on a 3D scan, whitening and emergency care. For orthodontics, wisdom tooth surgery and complex gum surgery we refer to specialists in Bend that we would send our own families to.
Founder and general dentist
Dr. Lindqvist opened Northwind in 2016 after eight years in a large group practice, where she decided she would rather see fewer patients and know all of them. She trained at OHSU School of Dentistry in Portland and keeps up her hours in restorative dentistry and gum health.
She is the dentist most of our nervous patients ask for. Outside the clinic she skis Mt. Bachelor badly and gardens well.
General and implant dentist
Dr. Ortega joined Northwind in 2019 and leads our implant and crown work. He trained at Oregon Health & Science University and completed a residency in implant dentistry, and he plans every implant case on a 3D scan before anything is scheduled.
He grew up in Redmond, so he probably knows your cousin. He spends weekends mountain biking the Phil’s Trail network.
Yes. Both dentists are licensed by the Oregon Board of Dentistry and complete continuing education every year.
No. Northwind is owned by Dr. Lindqvist. No one here has a production target, and no one is paid to recommend treatment.
We offer nitrous oxide for any treatment and oral sedation for longer procedures. For patients who need full sedation, we refer to a trusted oral surgeon in Bend.
