Most first visits include a hygiene cleaning. If your gums need a deeper clean, we explain why and book it separately.
You leave with a written plan, what each step costs with your insurance, and what can wait. Nothing starts until you say so.
Founder and general dentist
Dr. Lindqvist opened Northwind in 2016 after eight years in a large group practice, where she decided she would rather see fewer patients and know all of them. She trained at OHSU School of Dentistry in Portland and keeps up her hours in restorative dentistry and gum health.
She is the dentist most of our nervous patients ask for. Outside the clinic she skis Mt. Bachelor badly and gardens well.
General and implant dentist
Dr. Ortega joined Northwind in 2019 and leads our implant and crown work. He trained at Oregon Health & Science University and completed a residency in implant dentistry, and he plans every implant case on a 3D scan before anything is scheduled.
He grew up in Redmond, so he probably knows your cousin. He spends weekends mountain biking the Phil’s Trail network.
Most people put off the dentist for one of two reasons: they expect it to hurt, or they expect to be sold something. We built Northwind around removing both. Cleanings are done gently by hygienists who will stop when you raise a hand. Treatment plans are written down with prices on them, split into what needs doing now and what can wait, and nothing starts until you have said yes.
We are a small practice on purpose. Two dentists, four hygienists, and a front desk that knows your name and your insurance plan. You will see the same dentist each visit, and if something is outside what we do well, we say so and refer you to someone we trust.
Our clinic is on NE Greenwood Avenue, a few minutes from downtown Bend with free parking outside the door. Patients come from Redmond, Sisters, Tumalo and Sunriver, and early morning appointments from 7:30 AM mean most people can come in before work or school.
We check your benefits before your first visit and put the out-of-pocket cost on your plan before anything starts.

Yes. Most new patients get a first appointment within a week, and we keep two slots open each morning for people in pain.
Yes. We see children from their first tooth. Kids under six get a short, no-treatment "happy visit" first so the chair is familiar before anything happens.
Yes. Your written plan lists each step with the price after your insurance is applied. If you do not have insurance, we show our self-pay prices instead.
Tell us when you book. We schedule extra time, agree a stop signal before we start, and offer nitrous oxide for longer treatments.
